Q1.
How do I start( for Data Cable and IRDA
Dongle)?
Please follow the step by step instructions
to set up Mobile Studio:
1) Insert your USB Data
Cable or IRDA Dongle.
2) Windows will pop out with found new
device windows.
3) Insert Mobile Studio CD and search driver from
your CD ROM(click here for more detail).
3) Install the Mobile Studio
Software
4) Restart the computer
6) Link your phone with data cable or IRDA with
the PC
7) Start to use the Mobile Studio software

Q2. What is the minimum
system requirement?
Pentium 300Mhz PC
64MB RAM
64MB Hard Disk space
Windows Me/2000/XP
USB Data Cable, Infrared(IrDA) dongle,
or Blue Tooth dongle
Q3. How many phones can
I register to use with the Mobile Studio?
You can register up to
three mobile phones to use with Mobile
Studio.
Q4. Will I need to pay to receive upgrades
of Mobile Studio software?
No, all upgrades are free after the initial purchase. Please see
the download section for further information.
Q5. If I don't register my software,
does it have any limitations?
Yes. You will not be able to backup and import your phone book.
Every SMS message you send or image you create will have the text
“demo” added to it. Also, you will not be able to
use the file management system.
Q6. How do I register the
software automatically?
Mobile Studio will show a registration
window when you connect your mobile. Please input
the PIN number (found on the products packaging)
to register the software. You will need to be
connected to the Internet to complete the registration.
Q7. How do I register the
software manually via e-mail?
If you do not have an Internet access or your
computer is behind a proxy server, which leads
unsuccessful registration, then you need to send
us an Email with the registration information.
Mobile Studio Support Centre will send you the
final registered code.
1) .Input your PIN number and Email in the pop
out window in Mobile Studio. Please select "Register
through Email (send manually)", click on
"Ok" to continue.
2) Then the software will run your default Email
tool (such as Microsoft Outlook, Outlook Express
and so on) with all your registration information.
3) Copy the content of the Email and title to
support@mobile-studio.co.uk via other PC with
Internet access. Within 2 working days, we will
send you the final registered code back.
4) Connect the same phone again to PC and start
the Mobile Studio. Then input the final registered
code into the registration window, and then the
software will be registered locally.
USB
Data Cable
Q1. After a complete
installation, windows is asking for a “Modem
driver” to be installed?
This may occur with some of the new
phones. Mobile Studio only includes the drivers
for the data cable. If you cannot find the correspondent
driver from the mobile studio CD, you will need
to use your original CD from your mobile phone
provider. For latest driver download please visit
our download section.
Q2.
I have installed the driver and Mobile Studio
software, but it is still not working.
Do the following checks:
1) Plug in your Data Cable into the USB port.
2) Open “Device Manager” in your Windows
system.
3) Check the “Ports (COM & LPT).”
If the “Prolific USB-to-Serial Comm Port”
or "USB serial port" is there, then
you have installed the driver correctly. Re-start
the Mobile Studio software and the driver should
initialise. Also refer to our download section,
if there is a new driver available download and
install this. If the “Prolific USB-to-Serial
Comm Port” or "USB serial port"
is not there you should re-install the driver.
Please note before you re-install the driver make
sure the data cable is not inserted in the USB
port.
In some new phones, it will use build in modem
from your phone to comunicate with Mobile Studio.
In this case, the driver setting will appear in
the "Modem" setting. Please check that
section to see if your phone is listed in there
(for e.g. for Nokia 6230i, it will appear "6230i
modem in "modem" section.
Q3. I have phones with
USB Mass Storage function, and it appear with
problem to use with mobile studio? How do I solve
it?
1. connect the cable to phone to PC and it should
pop out message on your phone to ask whether if
you want to use it as "USB Mass Storage Device"
or not. In this step, please select no.
2. PC will then pop out with found new device
window and ask for the driver. You can point the
driver source to mobile studio CD to finish driver
installation. If you have previously installed
the driver, this step will not be required.
3. start mobile studio and then click on "option"
button
4. select "other" for the mobile type
5.select "cable" for the connection
type
6. click on "test" for connection testing.
7. once mobile studio found your phone V3, please
click on "no" further testing to skip
the search.
8. click on "apply" to finish up setting.
USB
IRDA dongle
Q1. I have installed the driver and Mobile
Studio software but it is still not working.
Do the following checks:
1) Plug in your IrDA dongle into the USB port.
2) Open “Device Manager” in your Windows system.
3) Check the “Infrared devices.”
If the “SigmaTel USB-IrDA Adapter”
or "USB IRDA dongle" is there, then
you have installed the driver correctly. Re-start
the Mobile Studio software and the driver should
initialise. Also refer to our download section,
if there is a new driver available download and
install this.
If the “SigmaTel USB-IrDA Adaptor” is not there you
should reinstall the driver. Please note before you reinstall
the driver make sure the dongle is not inserted in the USB port.

USB
Bluetooth Dongle
Q1. I have installed the driver and Mobile
Studio software, but it is still not working.
Do the following checks:
1) Plug in your Bluetooth Dongle into the USB port.
2) Open “Device Manager” in your Windows system.
3) Check the “Bluetooth devices.”
If the “CSR USB Bluetooth Device” is there, then you
have installed the driver correctly. Re-start the Mobile Studio
software and the driver should initialise. Also refer to our download
section, if there is a new driver available download and install
this.
If the “CSR USB Bluetooth Device” is not there you
should reinstall the driver. Please note before you reinstall
the driver make sure the dongle is not inserted in the USB port.

Q2. I have Windows XP and
my Bluetooth is not working. Please help!
Windows XP service pack 2 has introduced a new
Bluetooth driver, and the driver is not compatible
with our Bluetooth dongle. You will need to do
a little bit setup to point the driver to correct
